AirAsia X notes future equity partnerships around 'equity partners based on cultural fit'

AirAsia X head of commercial Arik De, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, said (04-Aug-2016) the carrier learned from previous investments in Japan, including the importance of choosing partners aligned with the carrier's philosophy. Mr De explained: "When we went to India we partnered with the Tata Group, the largest airline group, and partnered with them," adding: "So we have equity partnerships, but we select those equity partners based on cultural fit and Japan was a learning experience for us."
