Air Kazakhstan to commence operations in 2H2015

Kazakhstan's Minister of Transport and Communications Jenis Kasymbek stated (17-Jun-2014) start-up carrier Air Kazakhstan will commence operations in 2H2015. Mr Kasymbek said: "Formation of a new additional Kazakh airline is the most important factor in developing the civil aviation sector, as it will operate flights in the domestic market. One assumes that, in the second half of the next year, somewhat in the third and/or fourth quarter, the new air company will start working in the domestic market." The carrier plans to acquire ten Bombardier Q400 aircraft in 2015 to support its launch. Mr Kasymbek added: "Presumably, the aircraft are very well suited to the conditions of Kazakhstan, is a medium, high-speed, very economical aircraft." [more - original PR]
