THAI Holds Touchdown Ceremony to Welcome its First Airbus A350 XWB

31-Aug-2016 Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) recently held a touchdown ceremony to welcome its first Airbus A350 XWB, royally bestowed the name "Wichian Buri," on arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand. Mr. Areepong Bhoocha-oom, THAI Chairman of the Board of Directors, presided over the touchdown ceremony and welcomed THAI's first Airbus A350 XWB along with Mr. Charamporn Jotikasthira, THAI President, Mr. Jean Francois Laval, Executive Vice President, Sales, Southeast Asia, Airbus, Mr. Robert Lamoureux, Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing, Asia Pacific, CIT Group Inc., Mr. Ewen McDonald, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific, Rolls-Royce, and other guests of honor.

THAI ordered 12 Airbus A350 XWB aircraft, with four firm orders and eight aircraft leases, which is currently the most technologically advanced, modern, and efficient aircraft that meets customers' expectations. THAI will operate the Airbus A350 XWB on intercontinental flights, with initial service on the route Bangkok-Melbourne in September 2016.
