easyjet: Update on European AOC
14-Jul-2017 Following a rigorous and comprehensive process, easyJet earlier this year applied to Austro Control for an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and to Austria's Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology (bmvit) for an airline operating licence.
The accreditation process is now well advanced and easyJet hopes to receive the AOC and licence in the near future.
These will allow easyJet to establish a new airline, easyJet Europe, which will be headquartered in Vienna and will enable easyJet to continue to operate flights both across Europe and domestically within European countries after the UK has left the EU (regardless of the outcome of talks on a future UK-EU aviation agreement).
The people and planes that will fly for easyJet Europe are already employed and based in EU27 countries.
easyjet: Update zum europäischen Air Operator Certificate
Nach einem umfangreichen und gründlich geplanten Prozess hat die Airline easyJet Anfang des Jahres um ein Air Operator Certificate ("AOC") bei der österreichischen Luftfahrtbehörde Austro Control sowie um eine Betriebsbewilligung beim österreichischen Ministerium für Verkehr, Innovation und Technologie (bmvit) angesucht.
Die Zulassungsverfahren sind inzwischen weit fortgeschritten und easyJet hofft auf die Erteilung des AOC und der Betriebsbewilligung in naher Zukunft.
Dies ermöglicht es easyJet, eine neue Airline, easyJet Europe, mit Sitz in Wien zu gründen und so auch nach einem Austritt Großbritanniens aus der Europäischen Union weiterhin Flüge in ganz Europa und auch innerhalb von EU-Staaten anzubieten - unabhängig von möglichen Verhandlungsergebnissen zu einem künftigen Luftfahrtabkommen zwischen Großbritannien und der EU.
Sowohl die Mitarbeiter als auch die Flugzeuge, die für easyJet Europe fliegen werden, sind bereits jetzt in europäischen Mitgliedsstaaten angestellt und stationiert.
