St Louis Lambert International Airport

City: Saint Louis, MO

Lambert-St Louis International Airport is the major airport serving the city of St Louis, Missouri, USA. The airport is the busiest in the state and it also serves the surrounding metropolitan area, which includes much of south-eastern Illinois. The airport was the major hub of Trans World Airways, which was acquired by American Airlines in 2001. The airport has since lost its status as a major hub and its passenger traffic has fallen markedly over the past decade, from 30.5 million passengers in 2000 to 12.6 million in 2013. The airport continues to be an important transport facility in the region, with Southwest Airlines the largest operator at the airport.
