Fairbanks International Airport serves the city of Fairbanks and the surrounding central Alaskan region in the United States. Fairbanks is a vital air transport link for central Alaskans, and has regular services to the major Alaskan city of Anchorage. The airport sees a spike in traffic in the summer months, with a host of airlines operating services to the USA, Europe and North Asia. Fairbanks International is a major cargo refuelling location, and hosts many long-haul cargo airlines operating polar routes.
