Shuttle America

Ceased Operations on 30-Jan-2017

Shuttle America was a subsidiary of Republic Airways, offering scheduled commercial passenger service since 1998. The carrier operated Embraer 170 and 175 regional jets as Delta Connection and Embraer 170 regional jets as United Express. Its parent company, Republic Airways Holdings, requested the US bankruptcy court to approve Shuttle America's merger into Republic Airways, as well as approval to surrender Shuttle America's air carrier certificate. The bankruptcy court approved Shuttle America's merger into Republic on 30-Nov-2016, and the US Department of Transportation approved the surrender of Shuttle America's air carrier certificate, effective 31-Jan-2017. The process is part of Republic Airways Holdings’ "Plan of Reorganization" as it seeks to emerge from chapter 11 during the first quarter of 2017. According to the Republic Airways, the unified company will emerge as a single air carrier operating the world’s largest fleet of E170/E175 aircraft, under the Republic Airline Inc. brand. The merger was completed on 17-Feb-2017.
