Phoenix Wings was a the proposed relaunch of Syphax Airlines by Tunisian businessman and Telnet CEO, Mohamed Frikha. The carrier planned to operate scheduled passenger and cargo services, potentially under a low-cost business model. Mr Frikha stated an investor from the United States will facilitate the launch of Phoenix Wings. It is expected to operate services to the United States and Russia. The proposed carrier received government approval to be renamed as Phoenix Wings in 2017. It was expected to commence services in 2017, but failed to secure National Civil Aviation Council approval.
