About
Indonesia AirAsia X, also referred to as Indonesia AirAsia Extra, was a non-scheduled carrier based at Bali Denpasar Ngurah Rai Airport. The carrier launched its inaugural service to Taipei Taoyuan on 19-Jan-2015. Indonesia AirAsia X initially operated as a long-haul, low-cost carrier with an overall strategy that involved supplying feeder traffic from North Asia and Australia to AirAsia Group’s regional airlines network. The carrier operated as an LCC until it suspended Bali-Tokyo Narita service in Jan-2019. Indonesia AirAsia X then operated on a non-scheduled commercial basis with a fleet of Airbus A330 aircraft.
On 17-Oct-2020, AirAsia X reported Indonesia AirAsia X is liquidating as part of restructuring plans.
