AirAsia X Group
The AirAsia X Group is the entity controlling the AirAsia Group's long-haul, low-cost operations. Headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, its members include;
- AirAsia X (core operator; commenced Nov-2007)
- Thai AirAsia X (commenced Oct-2013)
- Indonesia AirAsia X (commenced Jan-2015)
AirAsia X and Thai AirAsia X employ identical low-cost business models and while Indonesia AirAsia X operates on a non-scheduled basis (it suspended scheduled service operations from Jan-2019). All carriers operate a single-type fleet of Airbus A330 aircraft.
The airlines work with the short-haul carriers of the AirAsia Group including AirAsia, AirAsia India, Philippines AirAsia, Indonesia AirAsia and Thai AirAsia to provide feeder traffic into the group's regional networks.
