Rolls-Royce Trent 900 powers A380 on UK debut

Indianapolis (ROLLS ROYCE) - The Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine today powers the Airbus A380's first flight to the UK, when the aircraft visits London Heathrow Airport. As launch engine for the programme, the Trent 900 is the only

powerplant so far to have taken part in flight testing, which currently

involves four A380s. Singapore Airlines will be the first customer to

operate the aircraft, powered by the Trent 900, with initial deliveries

starting later this year.
