Malaysia Airlines’ revised fuel surcharge
KUALA LUMPUR (Malaysia Airlines) - Given the current level of fuel prices, Malaysia Airlines is compelled to revise the fuel surcharge rates with effect from 15 November 2005.
The following revised rates for tickets sold in Malaysia have been approved by the Government:-

Travel from Malaysia to Europe, Australia & New Zealand, North & South America, Middle East and Africa - from USD36 (RM137) to USD50 (RM190) per sector.
For tickets sold outside Malaysia, the revised rates are as follows:

Travel from Europe, Australia & New Zealand, North & South America, Middle East and Africa into Malaysia - from USD45 per sector to USD50 per sector.

The revised surcharge is applicable for tickets issued on/after 15 November 2005, for travel on/after 15 November 2005;

The surcharge will be collected at the point of ticketing.
Domestic surcharge rates remain unchanged at RM15 for travel between Peninsula Malaysia and Sabah & Sarawak as well as RM7.50 for travel within Peninsula Malaysia and Sabah & Sarawak including Rural Air Services.
Malaysia Airlines continues to monitor the fuel price situation and will take further measures to review the surcharge if necessary.
