United Kingdom CAPA Aviation Country Report Nov-2021

Following months of suppressed capacity due to the COVID-19 pandemic, following a successful vaccine rollout throughout 2021, there has been a sustained rebound in the UK, even after the expected summer season peak.

With the reopening of trans Atlantic travel, the UK's capacity is expected to rebound further towards the winter season.

Of the UK's 862 aircraft fleet 139 are currently inactive, many of which are widebody aircraft, however as more international markets reopen there are expected to return to service.

This week British Airways reactivated its Airbus A380 fleet, performing European proofing flights in anticipation of deploying them on long haul routes in the coming months.
