US gov't welcomes new US-Mexico air transport agreement
US Secretary of State John Kerry and Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx welcomed (19-Aug-2016) the newly implemented US-Mexico air transport agreement on 21-Aug-2016, noting it will expand travel and trade between the two countries and facilitate broader economic growth. The new agreement will benefit "travellers, businesses, airports, and communities" as well as US/Mexican carriers, by providing greater opportunities for passenger and cargo carriers between any points in Mexico and the US. The secretaries added: "This new chapter in commercial aviation between the United States and Mexico further strengthens our countries' dynamic commercial and economic relationship and advances our mutual goal of shared prosperity."
