US carriers resume New York City-area services on 29-Aug: Hurricane Irene update

US carriers plan to resume New York City-area services at 12:00 on 29-Aug-2011, with the six largest carriers cancelling at least 10,300 services from 27-Aug-2011 to 30-Aug-2011 due to Hurricane Irene (Bloomberg/Reuters/panynj.gov, 29-Aug-2011). The FAA suspended air traffic control services at John F Kennedy International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, Teterboro Airport and Stewart International Airport on 27-Aug-2011.
