New York Stewart International Airport
Operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), Stewart International Airport is located west of Newburgh, NY and 97km north of downtown Manhattan. In 2000, the airport became the first in the US to be privatised, after UK-based National Express Group acquired a 99-year lease on the airport. PANYNJ acquired the remainder of the lease in 2007. A number of US carriers operate to Stewart, predominantly via their regional subsidiaries. UPS and FedEx also operate to the airport, which also houses a US Postal Service mail facility.
