US cargo volumes up 9.4% in Jun-2020 with largest jump in domestic cargo in three years

US Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported (13-Aug-2020) cargo volumes handled by US airlines increased 9.4% year-on-year to 1.36 million tons in Jun-2020, the largest increase since Jan-2018 and the second consecutive month of growth after four months of declines. The growth was driven by a 13.7% increase in domestic cargo to 1.06 million tons, which was the largest increase in more than three years. Jun-2020 was the seventh consecutive month of domestic cargo growth. International cargo decreased 3.6% to 293,000 tons, which was the 10th consecutive monthly decrease but the smallest decline since Nov-2019. [more - original PR]
