US BTS report airline on-time performance in Nov-2009
US Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) released (07-Jan-2010) the Air Travel Consumer Report for Nov-2009. According to the report, the US' largest airlines had a rate of on time services this past Nov-2009 that was higher than both the same month last year and the mark posted in Oct-2009. In addition, the reporting carriers also reported a mishandled baggage rate of 2.78 reports per 1,000 passengers in Nov-2009, an improvement over both Nov-2008 and Oct-2009. Details include:
- Overall on-time arrival rate: 88.6%;
- Highest on-time arrival rates:
- Hawaiian Airlines: 93.3%;
- United Airlines: 92.6%;
- Southwest Airlines: 92.0%;
- Lowest on-time arrival rates:
- Atlantic Southeast: 80.5%;
- AirTran Airways: 80.6%;
