UK Government rejects plans for additional London airport

UK Prime Minister David Cameron stated the airport has no plans to construct a new airport in the Thames Estuary, Medway or Kent to increase capacity from London (UK-Airport-News.info, 02-Nov-2010). Mr Cameron also reaffirmed the government has blocked plans for a third runway at London Heathrow Airport. A spokesperson for London Mayor Boris Johnson stated he has commenced a debate about the best way to increase capacity to/from the city and "it is vital that a location for extra runway capacity is found for London to remain one of the leading world cities".
