UAE sets aircraft movements record

UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority reports aircraft movements reached record levels in 2010 (Gulf News, 20-Jan-2011). Total aircraft movements increased 11.1% year-on-year to 64,457. The daily average aircraft movements increased 11.1% to 1766. UAE overflights increased 21.9% to 140,821. The following airports are the busiest in the country as measured by aircraft movements:

• Dubai: 292,662, 45.4% of total movements;
• Abu Dhabi: 94,796, 14.7%.
