UAC confirms delays to SSJ-100 deliveries

United Aviation Corporation confirmed Sukhoi has indefinitely delayed deliveries of the Superjet 100, due to problems with engine certification (Reuters, 29-Jun-2009). Saturn, which is manufacturing the engines for the aircraft in a JV with SAFRAN, stated the engine is undergoing certification and the company is aiming to get Russian, US and EU certification by May/Jun-2010.

United Aviation Corporation: "Sukhoi is in talks with the buyers about new timeframes for delivery of these planes. The engine makers have shifted the timetable of certification. Well, it turned out they were not ready. I think the problems were indeed technical - a new engine is being developed," Alexei Fyodorov, CEO. Source: Reuters, 29-Dec-2009.
