Air Transat CFO Jean‑François Pruneau said it intended to apply for the Canadian Government’s Liquidity for Airline Sector Resilience (LASR) facility after Canada’s Minister of Finance and National Revenue François‑Philippe Champagne launched the programme on 08-Jun-2026 via the Canada Enterprise Emergency Funding Corporation.1 2 Air Transat said fuel surcharges in Mar/Apr-2026 only marginally offset a more than 75% year-on-year fuel-cost rise, adding about CAD70 million in extra costs.3 In 2Q2026, it repaid CAD55 million across facilities and reduced long term debt and deferred government grants to CAD320 million at 30-Apr-2026, versus CAD400 million at 31-Oct-2025.4
