ThaiTiger launch behind schedule: reports

Thai Airways International and Tiger Airways joint venture LCC carrier ThaiTiger is reportedly (09-Feb-2011) expected to commence operations in 3Q2011 at the earliest, placing the launch at least six months behind schedule. The carrier is currently awaiting approval from the Thai government to commence services, and is still finalising details on the operational level. Services were previously scheduled to commence by Mar-2011 out of Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport. A Thai Airways spokesperson stated the start-up carrier's launch route will likely be a service between Bangkok and Singapore.
