Thai Airways to cut capacity by 10-15% in May-2010

Thai Airways confirmed it is considering cutting capacity by 10% to 15% from May-2010 to reflect the fall in demand due to political instability in Thailand (Bangkok Post, 28-Apr-2010). The reduction will particularly focus on services operating to its Bangkok hub. Capacity had already been seasonally reduced at the end of Mar-2010. Thai plans to reduce Bangkok-Kolkata frequency to five times weekly on 01-May-2010 and will replace B777-300 aircraft with B777-200s on its Bangkok-Delhi route - see Route Changes Table for more information.
