Virgin Australia launched its daily Sydney-Doha service with Boeing 777s on 12-Jun-2025, providing onward connectivity to over 170 destinations via Qatar Airways’ network. It planned to add Brisbane and Perth services to Doha in Jun-2025 and Melbourne in Dec-2025, with the alliance forecast to contribute AUD3 billion to Australia’s economy over five years1. The partnership also significantly increased airfreight capacity between Australia and Doha2.
