SriLankan Airlines eager to resume service to Bahrain
SriLankan Airlines chairman Ashok Pathirage reported the airline is eager to resume scheduled service to Bahrain, following a temporary suspension since Apr-2020 due to coronavirus related travel restrictions (Gulf Daily News, 03-Nov-2020). Mr Pathirage noted "the Bahrain route had very high load factors which averaged above 85% over the past three years", adding "the Kingdom accounts for about 7% of Middle East revenues and has shown an average revenue growth of 8%, during the past two years". He further noted "more than 51% of total passengers carried on the Bahrain sector last year comprised connecting traffic from and to India".
