Singapore Changi Airport pax up 2%, cargo up 3% in Jan-2013

Singapore Changi Airport passenger numbers up 2% - traffic highlights for Jan-2013:

• Passenger numbers: 4.3 million, +1.9% year-on-year;
• Cargo volume: 140,297 tonnes, +2.5%;
• Aircraft movements: 28,203, +2.2%.

The airport stated that among its top 10 country markets, growth in air travel demand was strongest for Australia, Japan and Thailand, with traffic to and from Sydney, Tokyo and Bangkok increasing by 10% or more. As at 01-Feb-2013, more than 100 airlines operate at Changi Airport, connecting Singapore to 240 cities in some 60 countries and territories worldwide.
