Ryanair to launch eight new Shannon routes from Apr-2014

Ryanair announced (24-Oct-2013) it will open eight new routes from Ireland's Shannon to Berlin, Faro, Fuerteventura, Krakow, Munich, Nice, Paris and Warsaw from Apr-2014, which will deliver an additional 300,000 passengers p/a (to 750,000) and support 300 new on-site jobs at Shannon. The expansion will also result in increased frequency on the Stansted route from 14 to 15 times weekly. This growth is the first 300,000 of an extra 1 million passengers p/a that Ryanair said it will deliver at Irish airports in direct response to the Government's budget decision to eliminate the EUR3 travel tax from Apr-2014. Ryanair said it is in continuing discussions with the four other main Irish airports - Cork, Dublin, Kerry and Knock - to finalise its growth plans for summer 2014 and hopes to announce more route and frequency growth from Ireland in the coming weeks.
