Russia Transportation Clearing House report Aug-2009 traffic results

Russia's Transportation Clearing House reports (09-Oct-2009) the following total system (domestic and international) traffic results for Russian airlines for the eight months ended 31-Aug-2009:

  • Passenger numbers: 29.6 million, -15.3% year-on-year;
    • Domestic: 15.4 million, -16.1%;
    • International: 14.2 million, -14.5%;
  • Passenger load factor: 74.5%, +0.1 ppt;
    • Domestic: 71.6%, +0.8 ppt;
    • International: 76.9%, -0.6 ppt;
  • Cargo volume: 425,414 tonnes, -20.2%;
    • Domestic: 131,887 tonnes, -21.6%;
    • International: 293,527 tonnes, -19.6%.

According to TCH, Aeroflot remained the largest Russian airline, by total system (domestic and international) traffic. The top ten airlines are as follows:

Meanwhile, AbridgeCargo Airlines remained the largest Russian airline, by total system (domestic and international) freight traffic for the eight months ended 31-Aug-2009. The top five freight carriers are as follows:
