Russia Transportation Clearing House report Aug-2009 traffic results
Russia's Transportation Clearing House reports (09-Oct-2009) the following total system (domestic and international) traffic results for Russian airlines for the eight months ended 31-Aug-2009:
- Passenger numbers: 29.6 million, -15.3% year-on-year;
- Domestic: 15.4 million, -16.1%;
- International: 14.2 million, -14.5%;
- Passenger load factor: 74.5%, +0.1 ppt;
- Domestic: 71.6%, +0.8 ppt;
- International: 76.9%, -0.6 ppt;
- Cargo volume: 425,414 tonnes, -20.2%;
- Domestic: 131,887 tonnes, -21.6%;
- International: 293,527 tonnes, -19.6%.
According to TCH, Aeroflot remained the largest Russian airline, by total system (domestic and international) traffic. The top ten airlines are as follows:
- Aeroflot: 5.7 million;
- Transaero: 3.2 million;
- S7: 2.9 million;
- UTair: 2.2 million;
- Russia Transport Company: 2.0 million;
- Orenburg Airlines: 1.0 million;
- Ural Airlines: 969,852;
- VIM: 861,303;
- Aeroflot-Don: 803,604;
- Vladivostok Air: 723,463.
Meanwhile, AbridgeCargo Airlines remained the largest Russian airline, by total system (domestic and international) freight traffic for the eight months ended 31-Aug-2009. The top five freight carriers are as follows:
- AirBridgeCargo: 115,240 tonnes;
- Volga-Dnepr: 58,945 tonnes;
- Aeroflot: 50,211 tonnes;
- S7: 90,808 tonnes;
- Transaero: 15,755 tonnes. [more]
