REDjet ordered to cease advertising of T&T, Barbados, Jamaica and Guyana routes

Trinidad and Tobago's director general of the Civil Aviation Authority ordered REDjet to immediately cease all advertising of its fares to T&T, Barbados, Jamaica and Guyana (guardian.co.tt/stabroeknews.com/ Caribbean360/newsday.co.tt, 21-Apr-2011). REDjet stated it formally applied to the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority on 19-Apr-2011 despite Works and Transport Minister Jack Warner knowing nothing about it. The director general of the authority, Ramesh Lutchmedial, stated the application is being evaluated and the carrier's 08-May-2011 launch date looks "unlikely" due to the "amount of work we have to do". REDjet has applied for a Foreign Air Operator Operations Specifications in accordance with the Civil Aviation Foreign Operator Regulations 2004.
