Queensland Airports Limited won't chase airlines which impact existing operators
Australia's Queensland Airports Limited executive GM business development and marketing Paul Donovan, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit 2014, stated (06-Aug-2014) the company "works very closely with its airline partners" in the form of cooperative marketing and market research. He said cooperative marketing is "one of our big areas of success", noting that the airport works with airlines on new route development to determine which new routes are sustainable and which routes will not negatively impact existing operators. He used AirAsia X as an example, stating: "We won't chase Chinese airline as AirAsia now serves 13 cities in China via Kuala Lumpur". He explained that the airport does not want to do anything to impact the business of existing airlines.
