Qantas predicts a 'more benign capacity environment internationally' in 2H2014

Qantas CFO Gareth Evans, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, said (07-Aug-2014) international capacity to Australia is slowing with forecast growth of between 3% and 4% in 2H2014. Mr Evans said that compares with an increase of 46% over the past four years, and is half the 8.4% growth seen in 1H2014, noting: "We are going to see a more benign capacity environment internationally this year than we have seen previously."
