Qantas Group focused on building stable earnings potential and removing volatility

Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, said (05-Aug-2016) about 70% to 75% of the carrier's earnings come from its Qantas Domestic and Qantas Frequent Flyer programme "and we want to make sure we have a stable business" and remove the volatility "from a part of our business which is very volatile." Mr Joyce noted: "There's a lot more discipline, a lot more focus on the bottom line numbers and last year for the first time in history we returned our cost of capital and we'll do that again this year and that shows we're on track."
