As previously reported by CAPA, Philippine Airlines received its seventh 777-300ER leased from Intrepid Aviation in late Oct-2016. Route plans by PAL with the new aircraft include:
- Manila-Los Angeles: Frequency increase from 10 times weekly to twice daily from Dec-2016;
- Manila-Vancouver: Frequency increase from seven to 10 times weekly from Dec-2016;
- Manila-Toronto: Frequency increase from three to four times weekly to twice daily in Dec-2016.
PAL chairman and CEO Dr Lucio Tan said: "Our 777's arrival is just in time for the coming Christmas peak season. The next 777 will be delivered a few weeks from now or by early Dec-2016. These planes are proof of my commitment and full support to Philippine Airlines. As promised, we continue to invest billions of pesos to make PAL truly a world-class, five-star airline". The 2 777s will be WiFi enabled and are equipped with in-seat inflight entertainment, providing passengers a wide selection of movies and music. [more - original PR]
