Founded in 2011, VAH (formerly known as Intrepid Aviation) is a privately held commercial aircraft lessor, which owns and manages commercial aircraft leased to passenger and freight airline operators worldwide. The company is managed by Amedeo. Voyager Aviation Holdings rebranded to VAH in May-2021.
VAH completed its announced exchange offer with holders of 98.49% of the company's existing unsecured notes due 2021 and all of its equity holders supporting the transaction on 10-May-2021. The out-of-court transaction transfers majority ownership to a "marquee investor group".
VAH reached an agreement with Azorra Explorer Holdings on 27-Jul-2023 to sell substantially all of VAH’s assets and for Azorra to assume and maintain ongoing arrangements with VAH’s employees and aircraft lessees. VAH filed for voluntary protection under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code "to execute an efficient and value maximising sale". VAH stated it "will continue operating as usual and is working to close the sale process as soon as possible". The company aims to complete sales, including lease novations, by 4Q2023 or 1Q2024.
