NATCA members vote to ratify collective bargaining agreement with FAA

US National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) members have agreed (23-Sep-2009) to ratify a new three-year contract, valued at USD700 million. The new contract will cover NATCA's air traffic controller, traffic management and NOTAM specialist bargaining units and will take effect from 01-Oct-2009. Under the agreement, newly hired controllers will receive a USD45,000 pay increase over the three-year period, while veteran controllers will receive pay increases of USD9,000 or more over that period (Wall Street Journal, 23-Sep-2009).
