Malaysia Airlines Managing Director and CEO, Azmil Zahruddin, stated more full service carriers are launching LCC subsidiaries to capture the growing market of price-sensitive customers (Malaysia Business Times, 04-Aug-2010).
Malaysia Airlines: “This is a strategic move as the industry moves towards liberalisation. We can expect to see more LCCs and more FSCs competing in the same space. For example, Middle Eastern carriers are very aggressive and Emirates flies directly from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne.
