Mitsubishi delays delivery of MRJ90 aircraft; reduces use of composite material

Mitsubishi Aircraft Corp, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd, stated delivery of the 92-seat MRJ90 to launch customer, All Nippon Airways, would be postponed from 2013 to 1Q2014, due to design modifications to the aircraft's cabin and wing box (Kyodo/AFP/Reuters, 10-Sep-2009). The first flight has been delayed by two quarters, from late 2011 to 2Q2012, although the number of flight test aircraft will be increased from four to five aircraft, shortening the flight test period.
