About

Founded in 1952, All Nippon Airways (ANA) is a major Japanese airline. ANA was established as Japan Helicopter & Aeroplane Transport Co Ltd and began as a helicopter service. ANA now operates as a scheduled carrier with an extensive domestic and international network. Japan Helicopter & Aeroplane Transport Co Ltd was authorised to operate scheduled air transportation in Oct-1953 and changed its name to All Nippon Airways in Dec-1957. ANA merged with Far Eastern Airlines in Mar-1958 and Fujita Koku K.K in Nov-1963. The first flight under the ANA name was operated on 01-Dec-1957.
