Maldivian launches Melbourne service

Maldivian, via its official Twitter account, announced (17-May-2026) it launched the first nonstop service between Australia and Maldives. The carrier will operate weekly Male-Melbourne service with A330.

Melbourne Tullamarine Airport stated Maldivian planned to commence a seasonal weekly Male‑Melbourne service from 17-May-2026, subject to regulatory approval, with CEO Lorie Argus saying it would make Melbourne Australia’s only airport with nonstop Maldives connectivity.1 Maldivian also resumed twice weekly Male‑Dhaka on 12-Mar-2026 and launched seaplane links including Male‑Thoddoo from 12-Feb-2026.2 3
