Lufthansa seeks compensation from BAA

Lufthansa announced it expects to receive compensation from BAA for losses incurred due to the closure of London Heathrow airport during heavy snow in Dec-2010 (World Aeronautical Press Agency, 11-Jan-2011). Lufthansa's Heathrow-based subsidiary, bmi, has stated it incurred substantial losses as a result of the closure. Lufthansa did not put a figure on the losses, as passengers continue to lodge claims with the airline.
