Lufthansa Group pax up 35.8% in Jun-2010, +8.9% excluding Austrian/bmi

Lufthansa Group passenger numbers up 35.8% - consolidated traffic highlights:

      • Lufthansa Passenger Airlines: 5.5 million, +11.6%;
      • SWISS: 1.2 million, -1.8%;
      • Austrian Airlines: 1.1 million, n/a;

    • Load factor: 82.6%, +4.0 ppts;
      • Lufthansa Passenger Airlines: 83.3%, +5.6 ppts;
      • SWISS: 84.6%, +1.9 ppt;
      • Austrian Airlines: 78.7%, n/a;
      • bmi: 74.2%, n/a;
    • Cargo volume: 171,000 tonnes, +20.0%;
  • Six months ended 30-Jun-2010:
    • Passenger numbers: 41.8 million, +25.8%;
      • Lufthansa Passenger Airlines: 27.2 million, +1.8%;
      • SWISS: 6.6 million, +2.0%:

    • Load factor: 77.4%, +2.1 ppts;

Lufthansa: “The recovery in passenger and freight traffic continued apace in June. On a like-for-like basis [without Austrian Airlines and bmi] the companies in the Group carried 8.9% more passengers. Revenue seat kilometres rose sharply by 9.9% and capacity was extended by 3.4%.
