Lufthansa: "December operations at all airlines in the Lufthansa Group were severely impaired by the winter weather. Based on initial estimates, the flight disruption due to the weather and the related additional costs resulted in a negative earnings effect of approximately EUR65 million for the Lufthansa Group. Apart from this non-recurring effect, demand and the pricing environment remained robust. Despite the cancellations in the second half of the month, the company was able to increase its sales by 6.0%, although the total number of flights was 6.8% down on the previous year," Source: Company statement, 12-Jan-2011.
