London Heathrow handles 70m pax over 12-month to Mar-2012, pax up 7% in Mar-2012

UK's London Heathrow Airport passenger numbers up 7% - traffic highlights for Mar-2012:

• Passenger numbers: 5.7 million, +6.9% year-on-year;
• Cargo volume: 130,860 tonnes, stable;
• Aircraft movements: 39,890, -0.7%.

BAA reported London Heathrow handled its 70 millionth passenger over a 12 month period for the first time in Mar-2012. The airport reached its 60 millionth milestone in 1998. Heathrow also reported 73.4% load factor, an increase of 4.2 ppts in Mar-2012. [more - original PR]
