JetBlue submits application for US-Cuba service

JetBlue Airways submitted (03-Mar-2016) an application with the US Department of Transportation to operate 15 daily frequencies between four Cuba cities and six US cities, including the following:

JetBlue will operate the routes with A320/A321 aircraft, and anticipates a start date of 08-Sep-2016 or within 100 days after receipt of all necessary approvals. The carrier noted, "Continuing to reward legacy carriers by granting their requests in this proceeding will further solidify their already-dominant market positions and result in further concentration, diminished competition, high airfares and a lack of innovative and meaningful competition."
