JAL Group announces route/fleet plan for 1HFY2010; to suspend ten domestic routes
JAL Group announced (04-Feb-2010) its route, flight frequency and fleet plan for international and domestic passenger operations, as well as international cargo operations for 1HFY2010 (six months to 30-Sep-2010), as follows:
- International passenger operations: Will reduce frequency on two international services, Tokyo Narita-Shanghai and Tokyo Narita-New York-Sao Paulo, from 28-Mar-2010, while increasing frequency from Tokyo Narita to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi - see Route Changes Table for more information;
- Domestic passenger operations: The carrier will suspend 12 domestic routes (including those already announced in Nov-2009), as the carrier closes its Shizuoka, Kobe and Matsumoto offices, while decreasing frequency on nine domestic routes. The carrier will increase frequency on ten domestic routes;
- Freight operations: The carrier is suspending freight services to Ho Chi Minh City, rearranging routings on services from Tokyo to Shanghai and Tianjin/Dalian, changing aircraft on the Chubu-Narita sector and rearranging routings/decreasing capacity on services to Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong.
JAL added that in it will closely evaluate the market situation and "effectively capitalise on the up-coming expansion of airports in Tokyo". [more]
