Indian Prime Minister supportive of equity injection for Air India

Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation stated the Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, was "supportive" of a fresh equity injection for Air India, and an early decision on the matter is expected (Deccan Herald, 09-Aug-2009). Air India is seeking an equity injection of approximately USD525 million and a five-year loan of USD2.1 billion.
