IAG passenger numbers up 6.3% in Mar-2011

International Airlines Group (IAG) reports (05-Apr-2011) the following consolidated traffic highlights in Mar-2011:

  • Passenger numbers: 4.2 million, +6.3% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 75%, -1.9 ppts;
    • Domestic (UK and Spain): 70%, -0.7 ppt;
    • Europe: 69.3%, +0.3 ppt;
    • North America: 76.5%, -2.4 ppts;
    • Latin America and Caribbean: 82%, -2.0 ppts;
    • Africa and Middle East: 70.4%, -1.4 ppts;
    • Asia and Pacific: 75.6%, -8.6 ppts;
  • Cargo traffic (FTKs): +5.6%. [more]

IAG: “Group premium traffic for the month of March grew by 18.1% compared to the previous year, with 6.7% growth in non-premium traffic. We estimate that the recovery from strike disruption in March 2010 accounts for roughly half this month’s premium traffic growth: the underlying trend appears slightly better than last month,” Source: Company statement, 05-Apr-2011.
