Garuda Indonesia falls into the red with USD38m operating loss in 1H2016

Garuda Indonesia revenue down 4% - financial highlights for six months ended 30-Jun-2016:

  • Total operating revenue: USD1764 million, -4.1% year-on-year;
    • Scheduled passengers: USD1450 million, -3.6%;
    • Scheduled cargo: USD102.9 million, +7.4%;
    • Excess baggage: USD5.6 million, +22.2%;
  • Total operating costs: USD1813 million, +1.0%;
    • Aircraft rental and charter: USD488.1 million, +15.2%;
    • Fuel: USD418.5 million, -21.5%;
  • Operating profit (loss): (USD37.8 million), compared to a profit of USD77.5 million in p-c-p;
  • Net profit (loss): (USD63.2 million), compared to a profit of USD29.3 million in p-c-p;
  • Passenger numbers: 16.6 million, +4.4%;
  • Passenger load factor: 70.8%, -5.0 ppts;
  • Passenger yield: USD 6.8 cents, -5.0%;
