Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport pax stable in Aug-2013

US' Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport reported (16-Oct-2013) passenger numbers fell 0.2% year-on-year to 1.9 million in Aug-2013, including a 0.6% decline in domestic passengers while international passenger traffic increased 1.4%. Commercial movements fell 5.5% to 17,297. The airport also reported the following airline performance:

  • AirTran: +32.7%;
  • JetBlue: +11.7%;
  • US Airways: +10.2%;
• Canadian services:
• • Air Canada: +16.1%;
  • Canjet: +15.3%;
  • WestJet: +11.8%;
• Leading negative growth:
• • Southwest: -25% as it continues to restructure/consolidate;
  • Virgin America: -17.8%;
  • Delta: -8.4%;
  • American Airlines: -1%;
  • Spirit: -0.6%.
